DistroWatch

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

DistroWatch is a website devoted to tracking, categorising and advertising distributions, mostly Linux distributions. DistroWatch was first published on 31 May 2001, containing information on five different distributions available at the time.[1] It now contains information on several hundreds of distributions. Its founder and maintainer is Ladislav Bodnar (as of December 2006).

The site maintains extensive comparison charts detailing differences between the package sets and software revisions of different distributions. It also provides some general characteristics of distributions such as the price and the supported processor architectures.

DistroWatch contains a "popularity chart", based on the number of page hits received by different tracked distributions.
