Districts of the Unitarian Universalist Association

The Unitarian Universalist Association, an association of Unitarian Universalist Congregations in the United States of America, is comprised of 20 Districts. Each District has its own District-level organization, complete with governing body (in the form of an elected council, or board) and all.

- Ballou Channing District including Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts.
- Central Midwest District including Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, and Wisconsin.
- Clara Barton District including the Connecticut Valley and Central Massachusetts. Named for Clara Barton, a pioneer American teacher, nurse, and humanitarian, remembered for organizing the American Red Cross.
- Florida District including Florida.
- Heartland District including Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky.
- Joseph Priestley District including Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, Delaware, Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C. Named for Joseph Priestley, a scientist credited with the discovery of oxygen and helping to found the oldest Unitarian congregation in America, the First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia, in 1796.
- Massachusetts Bay District including 55 congregations in the Greater Boston, Massachusetts area.
- Metro New York District including congregations in New York state from Long Island to Kingston, including metropolitan New York City, as well as northern New Jersey, southwestern Connecticut, and two congregations in Pennsylvania.
- Mid-South District including 32 UUA-affiliated congregations, and 4 emerging new congregations, in Alabama, the panhandle of Georgia, Mississippi, and middle Tennessee.
- Mountain Desert District including Colorado, eastern Idaho, Montana, western Nebraska, New Mexico, western Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.
- New Hampshire-Vermont District including New Hampshire and Vermont.
- Northeast District serving Maine.
- Ohio-Meadeville District including most of Ohio, western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
- Pacific Central District including Northern California, Hawaii, and Northern Nevada.
- Pacific Northwest District including Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.
- Pacific Southwest District including Arizona, Southern California, and southern Nevada.
- Prairie Star District including Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, northwestern Missouri, eastern Nebraska, North Dakota, eastern South Dakota, and western Wisconsin.
- Southwest District including Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, along with parts of Tennessee and Missouri.
- St. Lawrence District including New York state, excepting New York City.
- Thomas Jefferson District in North Carolina, South Carolina, Eastern Georgia, Eastern & Central Tennessee, and most of Virginia. Named for Thomas Jefferson, author of the United States Declaration of Independence, and third President of the United States.
