A disciplinary council in the context of Mormonism is a trial during which members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints may be excommunicated, or expelled, from the church for a number of different sins or misdeeds. Mormons may be excommunicated for actions ranging from adultery through apostasy.
