Disaster Recovery Center

A Disaster Recovery Center is a backup facility used in case of a disaster. Disaster recovery in Information Technology is the ability of an infrastructure to restart operations after a disaster. Disaster recovery is used both in the context of data loss prevention and data recovery.

Outlines in detail how a company or organization is to deal with potential disasters. The plan provides ways for a company to prepare for a disaster in order to minimize its effects.
[edit] Types of Facilities
Hotsite : Almost a duplicate of the original facility, fully equipped and ready for use immediately after the disaster. Only the people resources need to be moved to start operations.
Warmsite : Contain most of the features of the mother facility, but without the most relevant technology available.
Coldsite : A mock site or space allocated for the company to momentarily stabilize itself after a disaster. No equipment, though, is installed.
