Why was this article deleted ? Ericd 00:51, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

As seen on its page log, it was deleted because it doesn't assert notability, which, indeed, I agree with, which is why it was nominated again for deletion. The point of the hangon tag is for you to explain and cite sources as to the notability, which you have not done. Please do so, or it will be deleted again. Recreating articles is often considered vandalism. —Keakealani 01:11, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

What's this guideline ? One person can decide speedy deletion of an article because it's considered as non notable ? Not even a comment on the talk page ?

According to Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion : "The "Speedy deletion" policy governs limited cases where Wikipedia administrators may delete Wikipedia pages or media "on sight" without further debate, as in the cases of patent nonsense or pure vandalism. Non-admins can request deletion of such a page by adding a deletebecause|Reason template. The word "speedy" in this context refers to the rapid decision-making process, not the length of time since the article was created."

I've restored the content of an article I didn't start. As small as it was this article had received contributions from at least four contributors none of them anonymous. Ericd 01:21, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Notability

It has been brought to my attention that this is article is up for deletion. I remember two months ago opposing its deletion - and I suppose I still do. It is borderline notable but what swung it for me is that google found them and that they were (at the time) on a European tour (big thing for Japanish band??). Anyway I also remember at the time suggesting that it would need a lot of extra work to survive deletion - it does not look like that has happened. But with the work I think this article could be kept. Suggest an AfD maybe - so that others can discuss. I wont watch this page so tell me if you need more help or if it goes to AfD and you need my support. Cheers Lethaniol 01:59, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

That's fair. I can swing with an AfD, but I'm afraid I'd still support a deletion. I'm really concerned with the fact that the only links are its own website (which can be very biased) and a bunch of myspaces. If someone can come up with a notable newspaper/magazine article about the band, or some sort of confirmation that it's more than just some friends in someone's garage, that's fine. If they were on a European tour, why was that not mentioned by the author or inputted into the article? This should be a standalone encyclopedia, not somewhere where you have to go on your own search to find out anything practical about the subject. Otherwise, what's the point? I'm willing to work to get this article up to snuff, don't get my wrong. But I don't know anything about the subject, and therefore don't want to write the article. —Keakealani 02:07, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
They made a US tour and an European tour. That's more than a group of friends in a garage. The least I can say is that here in Nice we don't see much Japanese groups and even less Japanese girls groups. I went to see them as a curiosity and was surprised how good they were. I was surprised to find an article on Wikipedia but it's the proof that they have small but growing notoriety. Ericd 04:08, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Deleted. Please see WP:MUSIC for general notability guidelines for bands. Thanks. Chick Bowen 05:29, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
OK But I think it will be the final point to my contribution to Wikipedia. I don't like the way things are going here. I can't accept the speedy deletion of an article that is not blatant advertising. I can't accept that this deletion is without any warning to contributors. I can't accept that there are guidelines that allow this when as far as I know there was no vote to adopt theses guidelines.
I will be there a few day more to answer some request on my talk page and give more explanation to my decision but I can't stay long in a place were there is so much people playing cops or judges.
