NASCAR: Dirt to Daytona is a racing simulator developed by Monster Games, Inc. and published by Infogrames in November 2002 for the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube. It intends to be the most realistic NASCAR console game.
After several releases by EA Sports following the release of this game, it is still the most realistic console NASCAR game to date. Many consider the physics in the game to be the perfect blend of arcade and realism.
Due to Electronic Arts buying out the exclusive license to make the game from NASCAR, there will only be EA-made NASCAR games for some time, which is criticised by hardcore racing fans because they consider them unrealistic.
