Dirge of Cerberus Lost Episode -Final Fantasy VII- (ダージュ オブ ケルベロス ロスト エピソード -ファイナルファンタジーVII- Dāju obu Keruberosu Rosuto Episōdō -Fainaru Fantajī Sebun-?) is a forthcoming Japanese third person shooter role-playing game currently being developed and published by Square Enix for Amp'd's mobile phones. The game will also be available on Verizon's V Cast network by Christmas. Unveiled at E³ '06, the game was released on August 18 in North America. It was also unveiled as a flagship title for NTT DoCoMo’s Foma 903i handset at the 2006 Tokyo Game Show.
Lost Episode reveals a missing chapter from the sequel to the 1997 Sony PlayStation video game Final Fantasy VII, Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII- taking place between the events of Dirge of Cerberus. It involves the adventures of Vincent Valentine struggling to save the world from the evil Deepground Soldiers, a mysterious army of soldiers. It is the latest installment in the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII series, which also includes the games Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII-, Before Crisis -Final Fantasy VII- and Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-, as well as the CGI movie Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, the OVA Last Order -Final Fantasy VII- and the original Final Fantasy VII itself.
Lost Episode will take advantage of all mobile gaming has to offer, allowing players to explore a sprawling world in Battlefield mode, and battle the Deepground Soldiers in FPS battle mode. Vincent can also use familiar features from Final Fantasy VII, such as materia and limit break attacks, to smash his foes. The title will initially release a single player mode, with a multiplayer function launching at a later date.
