The Diocese of Roermond is one of seven Roman-Catholic dioceses in the Archdiocese of Utrecht. The current (second) diocese was re-established in 1853. Its border are that of the borders of the province Limburg.
Its Cathedral is the St. Christopher Cathedral in Roermond. The diocese has more than 1 million registered Roman-Catholics (about 96% of the population of Limburg) and 19,6% regularly attend mass.
Its main Pilgrimage sites are Kapel in het Zand and Valkenburg. The most beautiful churches are in Roermond, Kapel in het Zand, Wessem, Thorn, Valkenburg and Maastricht.
The dean of Roermond is responsible for the parishes in the city of Roermond and a few other municipalities in the diocese of Roermond.
