Dimension Zero

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dimension Zero are a Gothenburg, Sweden-based melodic death metal supergroup formed in 1996 as a side project of In Flames guitarist Jesper Strömblad and then-guitarist Glenn Ljungström. Former Marduk drummer Jocke Gothberg would join later as vocalist, as well as Hans Nilsson (Diabolique, Crystal Age) behind the drumkit.

The band released Penetrations From The Lost Word in 1997 before splitting up the following year due to internal problems. They reformed in 2000, and later recorded Silent Night Fever and This Is Hell. Tours have been rare due to members' other commitments (e.g. Jesper with In Flames, Daniel with Soilwork.)

Musically, they have been described as strictly old-school Swedish death metal in the range of At The Gates, Unleashed, and Defleshed. Due to Dimension Zero's inception by In Flames lead guitarist, Jesper Strömblad, their albums have also drawn critical comparisons with some of In Flames' earlier work.
