Dikironium cloud creature

The Dikironium Cloud Creature is a creature from Star Trek. It was a non-corporeal lifeform that fed on hemoglobin. It killed over 200 members of the USS Farragut (NCC-1647)'s crew, with one of the survivors being James T. Kirk. He later encountered the creature — "Obsession (TOS episode)" — while the captain of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) and destroyed it with an anti-matter device and with the help of the son of the Farragut's captain. Species with hemoglobin (containing iron) were the primary targets for the creature; Mr. Spock wasn't affected as Vulcans have copper-based blood. It approached furtively with only a sweet-smelling trail to avoid it by. It then materialized and sucked its victim dry. However, the victim could later be brought back to life, although that is the subject of debate.
