Dielectric Club

The Dielectric Club was a nightclub behind and below a snooker club at 37-43 Rutland Street Leicester LE1 1RE. It was situated over two floors and had a bar serving soft drinks (as no drinks licence was held).

The Dielectric was home to the popular and famous Die Hard nights with Happy Hardcore in the main room upstairs and Hard Techno and Gabber in the arched cellar downstairs. The area between the two rooms was previously the delivery way for the building and had double wooden doors leading to the street and stone floor, making it a cool relaxation space for those who found themselves hot from dancing. The main room upstairs had a sprung wooden floor, raised stage and air conditioning units to pump cold air on to the hot ravers. Off the main room was the bar, serving a selection of soft drinks and freezepops as well as selling raver essentials such as whistles and glowsticks. The walls were painted black, to maximise the effect of the light and laser shows, with smiley faces and slogans exhorting the members to be nice to each other painted in yellow and red.

The Diehard nights attracted ravers from all over the United Kingdom and big name DJs from the world of Techno and Hardcore.

The club charged £10 entry to members and £12 entry to non-members and held a licence to remain open until eight o'clock in the morning.
