Diegueño Middle School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Diegueño Middle School was founded in the early 1950's in Encinitas, in San Diego County, California, as part of the San Dieguito Union High School District. Since then, there have been many state-of-the-art improvements of equipment, appliances, and technology.

The grades at Digueño Middle School are 7th and 8th and has about 1,200 students enrolled every year. There are many interesting and unique electives that are available at Digueño including cartooning and journalism. The ASB (assembled student body) also is a major program at Diegueño. Dances, games, and most of the community projects are set up and run by ASB. There is a teacher every year who provides guidance and encouragement for the students, but the students pretty much run the whole show. The Diegueño mascot is a cougar.

Diegueño has been rivals with Oak Crest Middle School since Oak Crest was built.
