Richard "Dick" Casablancas, Jr. is a fictional character on The CW television series Veronica Mars, which debuted during the fall 2004 season on UPN. He is portrayed by Ryan Hansen. He is a series regular from season two forward.

Dick is the son of one of Neptune's wealthiest men. He is 19, an Aries and his hometown is Neptune, California [1]. He is part of the in-crowd at Neptune High, and is good friends with Logan Echolls. Though he didn't have a very large role for most of the first season, we learned that he (claimed to have) had a lot of sex, was a surfer, and bullied kids without money, especially Veronica Mars. At the end of the first season, we learned that he gave his girlfriend Madison Sinclair a drink laced with GHB at a party, which was then passed off to Veronica. Dick then encouraged his little brother, Cassidy "Beaver" Casablancas, to have his way with Veronica. Also, he and Beaver were witnesses that could discredit Logan's alibi for where he was the day that Lilly Kane was killed.

Dick became a regular in season two. Between the two seasons, he and Logan were responsible for burning down the county pool, as well as a few other felonious acts. Later in the second season, Dick was dumped by Madison for "older men" (Sheriff Don Lamb) and started dating Gia Goodman, a fellow student at Neptune High and the daughter of Mayor Woody Goodman. However, Dick and Gia stopped dating and Dick began pursuing Madison again.

As of season three, Dick is having trouble coming to terms with the shakeup in his life, most notably caused by the suicide of his brother Cassidy. Although his mother has pulled strings to allow him to attend Hearst College, and he has become a member of the Pi Sigma Sigma fraternity, it remains to be seen how Dick's ever more anarchic nature will affect his future.

Dick enjoys romantic walks on moonlit topless beaches, surfing, Mexico, “The Pig,” Happy Hour and twins. His favorite musicians are Nada Surf, Bad Religion, Sex Pistols, Beastie Boys and Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. His favorite films are Boogie Nights, Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas and Dazed and Confused. He enjoys watching Baywatch, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Entourage and South Park. His favorite books are The Game and Karma Sutra and his heroes are Hugh Hefner, Joe Francis and Kevin Federline [2].
