Diana (ダイアナ Daiana?) is the name of one of the feline fictional characters in the Japanese anime series Sailor Moon. She is grey, and is the daughter of the two other central feline characters, Luna and Artemis.

Just as her parents were guides to some of the central characters (Luna to Sailor Moon, and Artemis to Sailor Venus) Diana also acts as a guide to Chibiusa.

[edit] Manga

Diana first appears when Chibiusa brings Sailor Moon, Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Venus to the 30th Century, Crystal Tokyo. Upon entering the Crystal Palace, Chibiusa is greeted by Diana. Diana, along with Chibiusa is the only one not affected by the Dark Moon's sleeping spell over everyone in Crystal Tokyo. Later in the Sailor Stars manga, Diana teleports herself to the past to save her parents, Artemis and Luna from being killed by Sailor Tin Nyanko while in human form. Diana is badly injured and can no longer assume her human form. Later on in Stars, she is killed by Sailor Lethe in the River Lethe.

Diana's human appearance is a small girl about Chibiusa's age or so with double buns without any trailing hair. She has silver hair. Her outfit is grey, with a short solid flared out skirt with an even hem. She wears high boots. But unlike her parents, she still keeps her cat tail after she transforms.

[edit] Anime

Diana first appears in the series SuperS. She arrives from the future and at first, shocks the two elder cats because they are not sure who she is or to whom she belongs. Luna (the female cat) is then led to believe that Artemis cheated on her and had a kitten with another cat, but it is later revealed that she is the daughter of the two. Because she is from a future in which Usagi and Mamoru are Queen and King of Earth, she refers to them with the honorific of -sama. She also calls Chibiusa "Small Lady", as that is Chibiusa's name in the future.

[edit] Mythology

In Roman mythology, Diana is the equivalent of the Greek Goddess Artemis, a goddess of the moon and of wild animals.
