Diamond is a city in Newton County, Missouri, United States. The population was 807 at the 2000 census.

Diamond is located at 36°59′40″N, 94°18′50″W (36.994573, -94.313826)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.7 km² (0.7 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 807 people, 319 households, and 234 families residing in the town. The population density was 472.1/km² (1,215.2/mi²). There were 350 housing units at an average density of 204.8/km² (527.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 96.41% White, 0.74% African American, 1.49% Native American, 0.12% Asian, 0.25% from other races, and 0.99% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.36% of the population.

There were 319 households out of which 36.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.6% were married couples living together, 10.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.6% were non-families. 25.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.53 and the average family size was 3.02.

In the town the population was spread out with 27.8% under the age of 18, 12.4% from 18 to 24, 26.5% from 25 to 44, 19.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 89.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.5 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $29,000, and the median income for a family was $34,167. Males had a median income of $25,714 versus $19,000 for females. The per capita income for the town was $13,581. About 9.8% of families and 11.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 19.4% of those under age 18 and 5.5% of those age 65 or over.
