Diabolus in Musica is the eighth album by the thrash metal band Slayer. It was released June 9, 1998 through American Recordings. This is the second of three albums Slayer released with Paul Bostaph as the drummer.
This album presents a slower, darker, and more disturbing musical style, almost groove metal in approach, mixed with Slayer's traditional thrash roots.
Kerry King had stated that, during the creation process of the album, he was starting to hate the music scene, which is the main reason almost all the music on the album was written by Jeff Hanneman (a counter-action to the previous album Divine Intervention, in which King wrote the majority of the music)
It is the only original Slayer album in which the title of the album is not either the title of one of the songs or is mentioned in one of the songs.
