Dhubri
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dhubri is the headquarter of Dhubri District, Assam, India.
It is an old small town on the bank of the river Brahmaputra and Gadadhar, a tributary of Brahmaputra. In the yesteryears Dhubri was an important commercial centre particularly of jute. Partition of the country in 1947 changed all that. Now Dhubri has become the main route for the migration of Bangladeshis to India.
