DFU (Internet slang)

In Internet slang, a DFU, or Dumb Fucking User, is an acronym used by IT personnel to describe errors by the end-user related to misuse or poor understanding of the basic principles of computer operation. It can be used in expressions such as "It must be a DFU error", and is also conveniently used to openly mock the end-user if a fellow IT support staff member is present on the premises ("Sir/Madam, this is a very bad case of DFU error you have now").

The acronym DFU may be used by folks like the BOFH.
