Dewhurst Stakes

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Dewhurst Stakes is a Group 1 flat horse race in the United Kingdom for two-year-old thoroughbred colts and fillies run over a distance of 7 furlongs (1,408 metres) at Newmarket's Rowley Mile course in October. It was first run in 1875.

This race is considered the most prestigious in the UK two-year-old calendar and often provides the winter favourite for the following season's Classic Races.
