Devin L. Smith - FBI Crime Alert

Devin L. Smith is wanted for his alleged involvement in the largest jewelry store robbery in San Francisco, California history. On April 7, 2003, Smith and two accomplices allegedly stole over five million dollars worth (with some estimates as high as 10 million dollars worth) of antique estate jewelry from a store in San Francisco, California. The suspects allegedly entered through a rear door of a vacant restaurant that adjoined the jewelry store. Once inside, the suspects allegedly knocked a hole in a common wall and waited for store employees to arrive. Upon their arrival, the employees were forced at gunpoint to open the store's safes and retrieve jewelry. The suspects then tied up the employees and fled the scene. On April 14, 2003, local arrest warrants were obtained by the San Francisco Police Department for Devin L. Smith and his two accomplices. All were charged with robbery, kidnapping, burglary in the second degree, and conspiracy. The two accomplices were later arrested. Devin Smith remains a fugitive and was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution in a federal arrest warrant issued on April 25, 2003.
