Devin (Девин ['devin]) is a town in Smolyan Province in the very south of Bulgaria. It is located in the Central Rhodope Mountains in the valley of the Vacha 45 km from Smolyan.
The first Bulgarian school in Devin was founded in 1914 and the Rodopska Prosveta Community Centre (chitalishte) followed in 1923. The area is abundant in hot springs, a popular brand of mineral water being sold under the name Devin.
