[edit] History

[edit] Tekken 3

Jin was trained by his grandfather, Heihachi Mishima, as bait for Ogre, because Ogre absorbs strong fighting spirits, and he had already absorbed Jin's mother, Jun Kazama. Unknown to Jin, Heihachi wanted some blood or tissue from Ogre to create his own "ultimate life form". After Jin defeated True Ogre in the third King of Iron Fist Tournament, Heihachi couldn't capture True Ogre, so he ordered his Tekken Force soldiers to kill Jin. Jin was dying on the ground and reaching his arm to Heihachi for help, but instead, Heihachi shot Jin in the head with a pistol. Jin appeared to be dead, but his anger activated the Devil Gene, transforming Jin into Devil Jin. He threw Heihachi through the temple wall, and jumped after him. Wings appeared on Jin's back, and he rammed into the downed Heihachi. Finally, Jin flew off into the night.

[edit] Tekken 4 - 5

During the fourth Iron Fist Tournament, he began transforming in order to escape from Heihachi's trap in Hon Maru. He defeated Kazuya Mishima and transformed into Devil Jin once again, intending to kill Heihachi. However, he had a vision of his mother and realized the error of his ways. Once more, he flew off into the night. Shortly after, Honmaru was attacked by a series of Jack-4s. The Jack-4s detonated, releasing Jin's great-grandfather, Jinpachi Mishima. Jinpachi's awakening triggered the Devil Gene that Jin had worked so hard to repress. Jin lost control of himself and transformed once more into Devil Jin (this new transformation sprouting horns for the first time) wishing only to defeat Jinpachi and absorb his Devil power.

[edit] Ending

Tekken 5 (???)

Devil Jin has defeated Jinpachi Mishima. Picking up Jinpachi's (dead) body, Devil Jin absorbs his power through his arm. Dropping Jinpachi to the ground, Devil Jin's muscles expand suddenly, bursting through both of his gauntlets. Devil Jin's horns grow longer, and he is covered with long fur. His power becomes so massive that it triggers a violent explosion, and Devil Jin stands in the center of it, howling.

[edit] Fighting Style/Powers and Moves List

[edit] Fighting Style

Devil Jin is something of an amalgamation of several Tekken characters. His style incorporates moves from long-absent characters such as Devil, Angel, and Jun Kazama, and he also shares many moves with Kazuya Mishima, Heihachi Mishima, and Asuka Kazama. This style, in fact, is nearly identical to Jin's fighting style from Tekken 3, which makes Devil Jin play as a sort-of "classic Jin". According to the canonical storyline, Jin unlearned the Mishima Style Karate fighting style as one of the many ways to display his total hatred and disdain for his bloodline. Devil Jin, however, uses this fighting style with no such qualms.

In addition, Devil Jin can fly using the wings on his back and fire hex vision beams from his third eye on his forehead. In Hwoarang's epilogue, Devil Jin seems to wield the power of telekinesis to some degree (this is also shown in one of Devil Jin's standard win animations, which shows him using telekinesis to lift his opponent into the air while choking them).

However, despite his vast power, it seems that Jin's cousin, Asuka Kazama, can return Devil Jin to his human state simply by touching him, which can be seen in Asuka's Tekken 5/Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection ending.

[edit] Trivia

  • In the Customization mode, you can give Devil Jin Kazuya Mishima's hairstyle. This allows you to see Devil Jin's forehead a little bit better. This customization shows that Devil Jin has a third eye (identical to Devil's). This third eye allows Devil Jin to fire his Hellfire Blasts. This is also the same way that Devil fires his Hellfire Blasts.
