Development theory

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Development theory is a conglomeration of theories about how change in society is best to be achieved. Notable development theories include Dependency Theory, Modernization theory, international trade theory, Amartya Sen's Capability theory, Import substitution Industrialization and many more. However, these theories are very diverse, and have their origins in many social sciences, though economics has dominated the importance of the other social sciences in development theory.
