Is "Design for manufacturability" a concept specific to integrated circuitry design, or does the term have applications in general product design? Because if it's the latter case, perhaps the lead section should be re-written as an overview of the term and concepts, with sub-sections dealing with DFM applications in specific product areas.--Muchness 02:57, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

It's a more general term, and can refer to any type of manufacturing. I think I'll make a stub for that, rename the existing page "Design for manufacturability (IC)". Thanks for catching this - when you work in a specific field, it's easy to assume that what's meant. LouScheffer 05:07, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
