Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee was a fighting video game released in 2002, created by Pipeworks Software, Inc. for the Nintendo GameCube and Microsoft Xbox. As one may gather from the title, the players can assume control of several giant monsters from the famed Godzilla film series. The plot, loose as it may be, involves an alien race known as the Vortaak (from the planet of the same name) invading the Earth and assuming control of the planet's monsters, sending them to attack cities across the globe. One monster (whichever the player chooses), however, breaks free from the Vortaak's control, and battles the other monsters. It was followed by Godzilla: Save the Earth in 2004.
