Destroy Erase Improve is the second album by Swedish tech metal band Meshuggah. It is generally considered to be Meshuggah's creative zenith or magnum opus and contains the fan favorite Future Breed Machine, often used as a closer to their live performances.
Many critics credit this album as being one of the best and most influential metal albums of the 90's. Destroy Erase Improve was groundbreaking in its use of polyrhythm and off-time thrash beats, and established these elements as instantly recognizable trademarks of Meshuggah's music. Some jazz fusion elements are present in some songs such as Future Breed Machine, Acrid Placidity, and Sublevels.
