Despina (mythology)

In Greek mythology, Despina (Δεσποινα, "mistress" or "queen") was a nymph, the daughter of Poseidon and Demeter (e.g., in Pausanias 8.42.1). It was also used as an epithet for Aphrodite, Persephone and Demeter.
