Some Wiki software is not intended for collaborative work, but for either content management or for personal information organising.

  • ConnectedText is a non-free personal wiki system with many advanced features.
  • MyWiki is a server-less wiki for the GNUstep and Cocoa environment. (MyWiki isn 't maintained anymore)
  • Notebook is a freeware tcl/tk application. It runs on Linux, Mac and Windows. Exports to HTML.
  • Tomboy is a (LGPL) free software program for note-taking in a Wiki like manner. Simple editing and retrieval methods are provided. The program allows for easy organisation of any hierarchical data. Tomboy is stored in the Gnome CVS
  • WikidPad is an open-source standalone wiki notebook/outliner for Windows with plenty of features, such as dynamic tree generation, topic tagging, auto-completion, etc.
  • Zim is a (GPL) free software program intended as personal scratch book and note-taking application.
  • ZuluPad is a free standalone wiki notebook available for both Windows and Mac OS X.
  • Also, MoinMoin has a desktop version.
