Deshabhimani

Deshabhimani is a Malayalam daily published from various cities in India. It rendered glittering social, political, literary and linguistic contribution to the society of Kerala through decades. It also took part in the process of building the Communist Movement in Kerala. It was the only news paper which reported the killing of Naxalite Leader A Varghese in 1969 as a murder committed by police at that time. The way it protested during the national emergency period in 1975-77 was an unmatching episode in the history of journalism in Kerala. Deshabhimani started by the undivided Communist Party. And it is held by the CPI(M) Communist Party of India (Marxist) now. Even though owned by a political party this news paper attained greater professional standards during 1980s.

The list of the Chief Editors of this news paper include the prominent personalities like E. M. S. Namboodiripad, V. T. Induchoodan, P. Govinda Pillai, V. S. Achuthanandan and V. V. Dakshinamoorthy. M. N. Kurup, Thayat Sankaran and Prof. M. N. Vijayan were the Chief Editors of their Weekly. K. P. R. Gopalan, C. Chakrapani, P. Kannan Nair, P. K. Chandranandan and P. Karunakaran are in the list of managers of the daily.

The list of the Editorial Team members include persons like P. Bhaskaran, Premji, K. Mohanan, Narikkutty Mohanan, C. P. Achuthan, K. P. G, Pattuvam Raghavan, Ezhachery Ramachandran, A. N. Mohandas, Malappuram P. Moosa, K. Koya, C. P. Narayanan, Prabhakaran Puthoor, S. R. Shakthidharan, A. N. Raveendradas, Appkkuttan Valliikkunnu, Ravi Kuttikkad, Koya Muhammed, G. Shakthidharan, N. P. And Jacob Phillip and Ramanujan were the famous photo journalists of Deshabhimani.
