Desh Premee is a 1982 Hindi film directed by Manmohan Desai.

Master Dinanth (Amitabh Bachchan) is a freedom fighter and fought the British against rule of India and even went to jail. But after independence, the people's love for their country seems to be diminishing and they are too busy betraying it like Thakur Pratab Singh (Amjad Khan). Masterji finds out about Thakur Pratab Singh's illegal activities and as a result his family gets scattered. His wife Bharati (Sharmila Tagore) and daughter Priti (Parveen Babi) are kidapped to try and change his ways but to no avail. Soon Masterji is accused of betraying his country and is forced to flee his home. His wife becomes a victim of leprosy and disappears leaving her daughter in someone else's care. Masterji and his son settle into a slum called Bharat Nagar divided in 4 sections with a don in each one, Punjabi (Shammi Kapoor), Bengali (Uttam Kumar), Muslim (Parikshat Sahni) and Madrasi (Premnath).

All of them love their own section but nobody thinks of themselves as Indian except Masterji. Masterji sets out trying to bring peace between the four sections and as a result the four underworld dons use the Masterji's stay in Bharat Nagar to cover up their own illegal activities. Masterji's son a Raju (also Amitabh Bachchan) grows up in a different way by being draw into the underworld and is pursued by police officer Deepak Singh (Navin Nischol). When Masterji came to know about Raju's involvement in the crimes he hands them over to the police.

What will happen to Raju? What will happen to Masterji? will he ever find his family again?......
