The Desert Sparrow (Passer simplex) is found in desert and sandy areas of north/central Africa (Passer simplex saharae), and also in areas of Iran and Russia as the Asian Desert Sparrow (Passer simplex zarudnyi).

This sparrow is becoming more scarce.
