[edit] History

The mall was sold in 2003 to Boulevard Invest LLC owned by Investcorp, RFR Holding LLC, and Tristar Capital.

[edit] Miracle Mile

To match the conversion of the Aladdin to a Planet Hollywood, the Dessert Passage is being renovated and adopting a new Los Angeles theme, being called "The Miracle Mile". Renovations started in 2005 and will be completed in 2007.

Planned enhancements include new, more comfortable flooring, brighter interior lighting, streamlined and modernized storefronts and kiosks and a completely de-themed interior. The mall will become easier to navigate with the addition of an interactive directional system.

Other new features will be people movers for better access into the mall, a backlit sidewalk water feature and state-of-the-art LED video offering continuous streaming imagery. Also, the mall's entrances and existing retail locations on the facade be made over with floor-to-ceiling glass vestibule doors and storefronts. Finally, the new exterior will include a new patio and terrace to extend out to the sidewalk.

The center was named for the 1.5 miles of retail space the mall covers. Additionally, synonymous with retail districts throughout the country, connotes a shopping environment and also alludes to the "miracles" that can happen in the adjoining casino.

The exterior entrance will be more visibe, as navigating through the mall to get to the casino from the street was hard.
