Derwent Entertainment Centre

The Derwent Entertainment Centre is a venue for Tasmanians to enjoy a wide variety of performances.
It has many uses, and will be an icon of the River Derwent for many years to come. Built in the 1980s, it was the home of Tasmania's (now defunct) basketball team the "Tassie Devils". Major artists that have performed there include Elton John.
Situated between the Derwent River and the Brooker Highway. Like many venues in Tasmania it sometimes attracts the "big" artists. Slow ticket sales have caused problems for promoters. It is occasionally used for massive clearance sales and Expos.
