Derwent, Ohio

Derwent is a village in Ohio, located near the southern border of Noble and Guernsey counties, but actually situated in Guernsey.
This is in Southeastern Ohio, a part of the Unglaciated Allegheny Plateau region. It is loacted approximately seven miles from Senecaville Lake. Derwent is southernly bordered by Ohio Road 313] (Clay Pike Road). The Intersection of 313 and Interstate route 77 is only a little over a mile from Derwent. Major cities nearby include: Zanesville (33.5 miles) and Marietta(40 miles). The Intersection of 2 cross country highways (77 and 70) is only 8 miles away.
The Conway rail line runs through the eastern portion of Derwent and the B&O (Baltimore and Ohio) rail line runs just to the south. The population of Derwent is around 2,000 and the population of Guernsey County is 40,792 as of the 2000 census.
