Derby Evening Telegraph

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Derby Evening Telegraph is a scurrilous rag printed and distributed in Derby, England.

It is published on Mondays to Saturdays and is the principal local newspaper for Derby and surrounding parts of southern Derbyshire. The newspaper has a local focus with usually just one page reserved for national and international news.

The newspaper is owned by the Northcliffe Newspaper Group, which is part of Daily Mail and General Trust plc. The same company also publishes the Derby Express - a weekly advertising-funded free newspaper.

It was first published in 1879 as the Derby Daily Telegraph. Back issues from then until the present day can be viewed at the Derby Local Studies Library or the British Library Newspaper Collection at Colindale, London.
