Der nette Mann (German for The nice man) is the German hard rock band Böhse Onkelz first album. It was released in 1984.
6 of 14 tracks of this album are embargoed due explicit lyrics in Germany. "Der nette Mann" is the first album of the German skinhead subculture and one of until today five due forcing violence forbidden albums.

[edit] Frankreich '84 (France '84)
This song acts mainly of the 1984 European Soccer Championship in France. The band wanted to go to this championship, but had heavily problems with the France border police.
Frankreich '84 was embargoed because of the word "Frankreichüberfall" (France Assault), which was used in World War II. The Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Schriften (German Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons) meant, that Frankreich '84 is forcing violence and glorifying the Nazi regime.

This song is about the battles between the fans of Eintracht Frankfurt and other fans after a football match.

The problem of child abuse was a taboo topic in the society, so the band wrote this song. "I am the nice man from next door / and everyone could it be / Looks at me, looks at me / I am the pervert pig". The Bundesprüfstelle didn't understand the message of this song and embargoed it, they were meaning that this song contributes violence to children. The Böhse Onkelz performed this song until their end on several concerts.

This is an over-patriotic song. The Böhse Onkelz were - so they say - unpolitical skinheads at this time. "Deutschland" begins with the lines "Also 12 dark years in your history / destroyed not our solidarity to you / There's no state free from dirt and mud / here are we born, here we want to die."
In 1985 in Lübeck the singer Kevin sang "Schwarz-Weiß-Rot wir stehn zu Dir" (Black-white-red, we stand to you) instead of "Schwarz-Rot-Gold wir stehn zu Dir" (Black-red-gold, we stand to you). After the concert there was a big controversy between Kevin and the other band members about this single-handed attempt.

This is a sexistic song. "Girl, girl, come and spread your legs / girl, girl, you know what I mean" and "Girl, girl, take it in your mouth" are some examples. "Mädchen" was embargoed because of this lyrics.

Also embargoed because the song supports violence. Doc Martens are shoes with steel caps. One example of this song lyrics: "Doc Martens beat, Doc Martens beat, the sound of a steel cap, that meet into your mazzle."

The band says, with this song they wanted to glorify themself. "We drink with left, and rule with the right / We are the ruler of Frankfurt, kings of the night." Because of the line "We are Böhse Onkelz and do what we want / Today we rule Germany, and tomorrow the whole world". This song was embargoed, the Bundesprüfstelle means, that that one is glorifying the Nazi regime.
