Bradley Whitford portrayed Deputy White House Chief of Staff Josh Lyman in the fictional Jed Bartlet Administration on the multiple Emmy Award winning television drama The West Wing. Josh Lyman seemed to be most responsible for political affairs, liaisons, and operations, and was the only person referred to as Deputy Chief of Staff during his series (although his full title — Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Planning — suggests that he was not the only Deputy).
