Department of Social Security

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Department of Social Security (DSS) is the name of similar defunct governmental agencies in the United Kingdom and Australia

In the United Kingdom, the DSS replaced the older DHSS, from 1988 until 2001, when it was itself largely replaced as a department of the Government of the United Kingdom by the Department for Work and Pensions.

In Australia, the DSS was replaced by Centrelink in 1997.
