Deoxycortisol is a steroid, and an immediate precursor to the production of cortisol. It can be synthesized from 17-Hydroxyprogesterone.

11-deoxycortisol and 17-deoxycortisol represent versions that have undergone deoxygenation at different locations (see numbers on diagram above.)
