Denmark is a town in Lewis County, New York, United States. The population was 2,747 at the 2000 census.
The Town of Denmark is on the north border of the county.

Denmark was first settled aroung 1800. The town was formed in 1807 from the Town of Harrisburg.

Denmark is the place of birth of Moss Kent Dickinson, a Canadian businessman, mayor of Ottawa, founder of the town of Manotick, and member of the Canadian Parliament.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 132.2 km² (51.0 mi²). 131.1 km² (50.6 mi²) of it is land and 1.1 km² (0.4 mi²) of it (0.84%) is water.
The northwest town line is the border of Jefferson County, New York, and the Black River forms the east town line. The Deer River, running through the north part of the town is a tributary of the Black River.
Both New York State Route 12 and New York State Route 26 run in a northwest to southeast dirction through the town, paralleling the Black River. New York State Route 410 passes across the southeast corner of the town.

As of the census2 of 2000, there were 2,747 people, 977 households, and 753 families residing in the town. The population density was 21.0/km² (54.3/mi²). There were 1,149 housing units at an average density of 8.8/km² (22.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 96.76% White, 0.51% African American, 0.25% Native American, 0.18% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.84% from other races, and 1.42% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.82% of the population.
There were 977 households out of which 37.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.1% were married couples living together, 7.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.9% were non-families. 17.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.79 and the average family size was 3.15.
In the town the population was spread out with 28.7% under the age of 18, 9.6% from 18 to 24, 30.5% from 25 to 44, 21.4% from 45 to 64, and 9.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 103.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.5 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $38,696, and the median income for a family was $45,046. Males had a median income of $33,147 versus $22,375 for females. The per capita income for the town was $14,960. About 7.9% of families and 12.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 17.3% of those under age 18 and 10.3% of those age 65 or over.

- Briggs Corners -- A hamlet west of Castorland village on Route 410.
- Cameron Corners -- A hamlet near the north town line, east of Copenhagen village.
- Castorland -- The Village of Castorland is near the east town line on Route 410.
- Clark Corners -- A hamlet south of Copenhagen on Route 12.
- Copenhagen -- The Village of Copenhagen on Route 12 in the northwest part of the town. It was formerly called "Munger Hills."
- Deer River -- A hamlet north of Denmark village, formerly called Frenchs Mills. The community is located on Route 26 and the Deer River.
- Deer River Station -- A location east of Deer River near the Black River.
- Denmark -- The hamlet of Denmark on Route 26.
