Denise Biellmann

Denise Biellmann (born December 11, 1962) is an Swizz former skater, who was three-time national figure skating champion. She is mostly known for her Biellmann spin. She was also the first woman credited with landing a triple lutz jump in competition (at the 1978 European Championships). She was European and World Champion in 1981, and placed 4th at the 1980 Winter Olympic Games, where she won the free skating portion of the event but was held back in the overall standings by poor compulsory figures.

Biellmann retired from amateur competition shortly after her World Championship win. She has continued to remain involved in the international figure skating community as a participant in both professional shows and competitions and has launched a line of fitness and fashion goods.
