Deneb (Ogre Battle)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Deneb is a character from the Ogre Battle series of video games. She is a witch from the kingdom of Zenobia, and is the only character who has appeared in every game in the series (except for the Japan-only Ogre Battle: Legend of the Zenobia Prince). She is very vain, and it is implied that she has possessed several different bodies during her life. Deneb is also obsessed with research, and aligned herself with the Zeteginean empire after they offered her access to magic books. She is associated with Pumpkinheads, a type of monster which she created which can halve an enemy's HP.
Deneb's element is Fire. Her birthday is October 7th, or Preta 13th in the Zeteginean calendar.
[edit] Appearances
In the first game in the series, she is the boss of the stage "Glass Pumpkin". After she is defeated, the player has the option to forgive her. If she is forgiven, she can be recruited later in the game after bringing her a Golden Bough. This will only work if the Opinion Leader has a low Reputation.
In Tactics Ogre, she opens up a traveling shop in Chapter Four. She can be recruited after buying 255 items from her shop. If one recruits ten Pumpkinheads using ten Glass Pumpkins, she will come with a higher level and better spells and equipment.
In Ogre Battle 64, she makes a brief appearance as the playable leader in the tutorial.
In Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis, she can be obtained by recruiting a female soldier and naming her Deneb. The soldier must be Neutral or Chaotic so she can become a Witch. Upon becoming a Witch, Deneb turns into a "Witch ♥", a special type of witch with a better ability to charm, higher stat growth and the ability to cast summon spells. She can also visit a secret shop in Scabellum where special items may be bought.
