Den Haag (elm cultivar)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Siberian Elm U. pumila cultivar Den Haag is a Dutch development reputed to be extremely drought, wind, and frost tolerant. The tree is of modest proportions, achieving a maximum height of 6m. It is distinguished by its foliage, creamy-white on emergence, turning lime-green and ultimately deep green by midsummer. The tree remains in commercial cultivation in the Netherlands [1] and also New Zealand.

In the UK a specimen is held in the NCCPG elm collection maintained by Brighton & Hove City Council. It is not known to have been introduced to North America.
