My new edits/entries should be included, but wish to find the exact places and sources, because of criteria and rules apply. The rejected edits are below (or better yet, create a new main page: Demographics of San Francisco).

<<< San Francisco is a minority-majority city as non-Hispanic Whites make up less than 44% of the population. Asian Americans, principally Chinese, comprise nearly 31% of the population, but includes Koreans, Japanese, Filipinos and Southeast Asians from Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand. Hispanics of any race make up just over 14% of the population, the majority are Mexicans but includes Cubans, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Central Americans and South Americans. At less than 8% of the population, San Francisco has a lower concentration of African Americans than the United States as a whole.[1] Few of San Francisco's residents have lived there their whole lives. Only 35% of its residents were born in California; 39% were born outside the United States.[2]

San Francisco has many white ethnic groups and many Americans of immigrant descent formerly had their own neighborhoods. The city's most numerous ethnic groups (in alphabetical order, the exception of Chinese): British which is English but includes Australians and Scots, Canadians, French, Germans, Greeks, Irish, Italians, Portuguese, Russians and others from Europe and the Middle East like Armenians and Indians. San Francisco has a fairly large American Jewish population in terms of culture and religion, thus make it one of the Western US' largest Jewish communities.

For decades in the last half of the century, San Francisco was home to many African-Americans, but their old neighborhoods along Fillmore Street are no longer mostly black sections since Asian and Latino immigration took place in the 1980s and San Francisco has experienced a "black flight" of middle-class African Americans to the suburbs. The city has a higher number of Native Americans and Pacific Islanders (esp. Hawaiians and Samoans) than most US urban areas, but in the 2000s demographers claimed the city's white population has grown in faster rates than non-white minorities during gentrification of neighborhoods once had few white residents a decade ago and the increased migration of Asian Americans and Latinos for nearby suburbs. [edit] Scale

What is the scale for the maps? What do the colors mean? These maps are pretty close to meaningless without a legend. Ufwuct 15:16, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

The original author's help would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, Stevey7788 does not appear to be active lately, so to anyone who can add the requested information, it would be appreciated. Thanks. Ufwuct 15:27, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
