The 'Democratic Youth Federation' of India owes it's formation largely to the young Communist leader Comrade Dinesh Majumdar, who eventually became the first President of the Organisation alongwith Comrade Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, now the Chief Minister of West Bengal, as it's founder General Secretary. The D.Y.F.I. became a idiol in front of the other youth organisations who largely were involved in only merricious activities like sports etc. barred from any ideology. D.Y.F.I., on the other hand, boldly declared the organisation as an active youth segment which will work for the formation of a society led by the labour class.

Isn't the page Democratic Revolutionary Youth Federation just a redirect for this one? Lsjzl 19:18, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

No. DYFI is the youth wing of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). DRYF is the youth wing of the North Bengal splinter-group Communist Party of Revolutionary Marxists. --Soman 10:21, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hoodlums

It is just an organization for hoodlums who act on the orders of Communist Party bosses. In cahoots with SFI,it has been instrumental in holding hostage any educational reforms intiated by the Govt in Kerala sumal 07:09, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
