The Democratic Action Congress (DAC) was a political party in Trinidad and Tobago founded by A.N.R. Robinson from the Action Commission of Democratic Citizens (ACDC) in 1971. It contested General Elections between 1976 and 1981 but was never able to control more than the two Tobago seats. However it did dominate the Tobago House of Assembly (THA). In 1986 it merged into the National Alliance for Reconstruction.

In 2004 ,after the NAR lost control of the Assembly in the 2001 Tobago House of Assembly Elections, an attempt was made to oust Hochoy Charles as NAR Tobago leader. As a result Charles left the NAR and re-formed the DAC. During the 2005 Tobago House of Assembly Elections it became clear that the DAC had gained most the NAR's support, however the DAC still only won a single seat. Having lost the election and the seat he contested, Charles offered to resign as party leader, but the resignation was not accepted on the grounds that the party needed experienced leadership.
