Demidov (Russian: Деми́дов) is a town in Smolensk Oblast, Russia, located on the Kasplya River at its confluence with the Gobza River. Geographic coordinates: 55°16′N 31°31′E. Population: 8,400 (2005 est.); 8,786 (2002 Census).

Demidov was founded in 1499 as a settlement of Porechye (Поре́чье) and granted town status in 1776. In 1918, it was renamed Demidov after a local Bolshevik Yakov Demidov (1889–1918).
