Dell PowerEdge

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

PowerEdge is the name given to all of the servers produced by Dell, Inc. The first generation was produced in 1996. Before, all of Dell's servers used Intel Pentium or Xeon processors, but recently Dell has started shipping servers using AMD Opteron processors too. The servers ship with either Microsoft Windows, SUSE, Red Hat Linux or no operating system preinstalled. They are configured as tower, rack optimized, or blade servers. All systems come with Dell OpenManage for integrated systems management.
