Dehana

Dehana is one of the 105 woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Wag Hemra Zone, Dehana is bordered on the south by the Semien Wollo Zone, on the southwest by the Debub Gondar Zone, ion the northwest by the Semien Gondar Zone, on the north by Zikuala, and on the east by Soqota. The major town in Dehana is Made Werq.
Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 130,762, of whom 65,731 were males and 65,031 were females; 3,585 or 2.74% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 5.4%. With an estimated area of 1,932.50 square kilometers, Dehana has an estimated population density of 67.7 people per square kilometer, which is greater than the Zone average of 45.1.[1]
