Def Tech is a Japanese band. Def Tech has enjoyed amazing success for being signed with an independent label and had the 3rd best selling album in 2005. Def Tech performed at Live8 in Tokyo in July 2005. Def Tech is currently one of the most popular bands in Japan. They are establishing new genre "Java Ian reggae". They perform not only a performance but also songwriting / arrangement produce by themselves

Shen - originally from Hawaii. He was born in China. And he grew up in Hawaii.
Micro - originally from Ota Ward, Tokyo. His real name: 西宮佑騎(Nishimiya Yuuki)graduated from Hosei University.

The band's 2006 Album, Catch The Wave includes a title track that was used in trailers for the 2006 film Catch A Wave [ キャッチ・ア・ウェーブ ], but may not have been featured in the movie itself.
The Playstation drumming simulation game Taiko no Tatsujin 太鼓の達人 (Vol. 6) includes the Def Tech track 'My Way', from their self-titled 2005 album.
